Welcoming a whole New Year with big dreams and good vibes, Weekender has set out to try ‘new’ things and meet new people , and this being one of our New Year resolutions for 2017, we are hoping to evolve it into a habit : to submerge into anything that can come into the framework of extraordinary, unconventional and exciting in Bahrain. Naturally that includes things that define and enhance our appearance and beauty and as a bonus, are naturally healthy too. Excited indeed, we recently tried out a few fascinating products from Lush- a recently launched cosmetics company that believes in making effective products from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, with the finest essential oils and safe synthetics.And from the first glimpse itself, what the brand believes, it surely is also incorporating. A maze of wonders with spectacular sights and tempting smells, Lush brings a whole new meaning to freshness by literally keeping it all fresh- from the making to the packaging. Seeing the towers and gorgeous clumps of hand soaps, cut into desired sizes as per the customer’s demands, just comes to show how committed the brand is to keeping is luscious. From items that will ensure great baths and showers to products that are godsend when it comes to treating your hair, face and body, Lush is one shop at the mall you need to come down with a lot of time at your hands, because it isn’t just about asking and purchasing. It’s about exploration, to feel and indulge in goodness of beauty and care, unlike any other.
We tried a little of the very minty and fresh ‘Dirty Spring wash’ shower gel. It certainly leaves you feeling invigorated and provides the fresh feel as it combines spearmint with menthol crystals that make the skin feel cool in a hot shower- a shower style to freshen you up, plus there is a tingling feeling you can’t resist. There is also glycerine and sea salt that actually gives a soft touch to your bath.
Beauty comes organic- makes life perfect!
Another tempting item we picked up from the shelves was the ‘Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner’, intrigued, we learned it is supposed to work exactly how hair conditioners work for hair; only it’s for the body and you need to apply it on wet skin while in the shower, rinsing it off after a while. With a rose-scent that isnt overwhelming, it provides a pampered feel and massaging more makes the skin absorb more of the scoops of cocoa butter, cupuacu butter, almond oil and Argan oils. Needless to say this is one of the most luxurious body softeners out there.
However with this cold and unpredictable weather, we wanted to see some divine solutions for lips, especially those that need a reason to dry out every 2-3 hours. The answer came in variant forms for Lush doesn’t keep it simple, it makes it scrumptious! Aside from the impressive line of lip balms and tints, we were left mesmerized by the range of lip scrubs available. Trying on a bit of the ‘Popcorn’ flavour, the sugar, sea salt and polenta combined with coconut and jojoba oils, buffed up and prime the lips, an interestingly don’t even leave a film. What’s more tempting is how the finest particles give a refreshing feel and yes taste good too, you can lick off and will be tempted too but don’t make it a habit though- let it work its magic on giving you the perfect Cinderella smile.
