Mattar and Almuammari race to fine victories

Mohammed Mattar and Rashid Almuammari were the big winners in their respective series, held as part of the Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC) at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
Mattar was the overall victor in round four of the Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) while Almuammari claimed first place in round six of the Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SSWS). Both the BRMMC and SSWS are a part of the BKSC. All the action was held along BIKC’s 1.414-kilometre Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) Track.
In the BRMMC, Mattar claimed first place after completing their 15-lap Final in a total time of 14 minutes 42.337 seconds. Mattar did well to overcome a hard challenge from his closest competitors, who included Hussain Hassan who took the win in the Pre-Final.
Khaled Alsaei was not far behind Mattar in second place 2.648 seconds behind, while Hassan had to settle for third place 5.173s back. Aside from the overall classification, all three drivers were also ranked as the top three in the Max category. Youngster Talal Beshara was the winner in the Junior Max class. He finished in 14:54.625. Alexander Bekkers was a distant runner-up 28.581s, while Luca Santiago came third 32.876s back.
Anthony Genoccio was also a winner in the round, claiming the first place trophy in the Max Masters class.Following the BRMMC’s fourth round, Mattar improved to 121 points on the Max championship standings, while Hassan remained within striking distance with 117 markers. Alsaei was ranked third with 94 points.
Abubaker Ali, Bader Mubarak and Khalid Alwazzan rounded out the top six from the 17 competing drivers.Mohammed Jalal was the Pre-Final winner, but dropped all the way to a disappointing 13th.
Buhindi continued to top the championship standings after the sixth round with 171 points.
The next meeting of the BKSC, featuring round five of the BRMMC and round seven of the SSWS, will be held on March 24. It will be the penultimate event of the season.For more information on the BKSC or events at BIKC, visit www.bahrain-karting.com
