INGIE Paris Fall Winter 2017-2018 Collection is an animation of contrasts. Between ample volumesand urban restraint, metallic tones and nature’s textures, the season plays with artificial lightagainst infinite shades of night.
Meanwhile, an early 80s rock n’ roll minimalism cuts some sharp contrasts in cigarette pants, tucked in and tailored, or gowns in tulle embroidered with sequins for stepping out into the city’s excesses of evening. Fabrics are super fluid, airy and transparent or, warming like an opulent interior in tweed or floral jacquard – used inside out – of gold and tangerine tones. Yet lightness prevails in couture silk fabrics such as crêpe envers satin and a second-skin, French silk lamé in midnightblue.
The season’s colour palette, sombre yet sensual, features Parisian zinc, bronze, ink, amaranthand crème. Black, in nuances of night, underscores the collection. Light plays on materialtextures across lacquer, mat, satin and Pekin stripes.
Brilliant flies and dragonflies alight upon looks in embroidered brooches, while oversized pearls – an INGIE signature – sign buttoned sleeves, long layered chain necklaces and the collection’s jewels: crystal clusters cast from real “desert rose” mineral formations in pale yellow and white gold. Footwear in silk and jacquard are equally adorned with pearls, and asymmetrical ruffles.
The City of Lights, and its Seine River flowing like ink, infuses the Fall Winter 2017-2018 Collection with contrasts of darkness and illumination.
