Of late the Middle East’s contribution to the motion picture industry has reached new and exciting heights and this past weekend Egyptian composer and director Amir Hedayah stood at the very epicentre of this. 

An exceptional individual who has risen to the top of his profession in recent years,was able to emphatically crown this by premiering his recent work “Thistle One” at the 2018’s CTN Animation Expo in Burbank, Los Angeles. The hotly tipped short moviewas among five other short animated films being showcased including Academy Award qualified short animated films. 

Amir’s recent boundary breaking work with ex-Pixar and co-founder of Animation Mentor and Artella - Bobby Beck, is the culmination of years of hard work and unwavering passion.On thatvery same weekend that he premiered in Los Angeles,he was also recognised for his work on “Telephone”- a film by that the award-winning Syrian filmmakers Muhammad Bayazid and Samah Safi Bayazid - that he produced the original score for.
