The United Nations Information Centre for the Gulf Countries (UNIC Manama) and The Lions Club of Riffa are cooperating to organize Lions Club Annual Walk-In Essay and Painting Competition for children. The Competition will be held on Friday 25th January 2019 at the New Millennium School, Zinj, between 3.00 pm and 5.15 pm. Entrance is free. The objective is to stimulate the inherent creativity of the youth of the country and present a forum to express their views on topics which will be informed at the venue. There will be three categories and the event is limited to the capacity of the premises.
The topic of the essay competition will be announced at the venue and the theme of the painting competition will be on ‘Peace’ and the exact topic will be announced at the venue. The first three winners in each category will be announced in the press. The school sending the highest number of participants will also be recognized. The Lions Club of Riffa is a not-for-profit organization whose services are dedicated to the community through its voluntary activities towards social causes. We are a part of the international movement of Lionism, which has laid its first community service club in 1917 in the United States of America and has since grown to 45,000 clubs enrolling 1.6 million members across 182 countries and earning recognition from the United Nations.
