A Bahraini-French concert

Celebrating the cultural bridges with the members of the international community and the cultural cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the French Republic, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) called for a concert entitled "The Return - the Spirit of Bahrain" by Maestro Wahid Al Khan, accompanied by the French Sinfonia Pop Orchestra, was conducted at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. 

The Bahraini Maestro, Wahid Al Khan, reflects the content of his album inspired by Bahraini stories and scenes (The Return - the Spirit of Bahrain), which was performed at Kodaly Center in Hungary last September, he also performed at the Cairo Opera House during the 27th edition of the Arab Music Festival and presented an extraordinary ceremony at the Bahraini National Theatre, accompanied by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra on February 14, 2019. The album is meant to introduce Bahrain to the world through state of the art music. It is composed in orchestral standards with Bahraini flavor suitable for all tastes. The album is simply reflecting stories and scenes built around the spirit of Bahrain, it was performed by Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra recorded in one take (all performing together), and then the oriental instruments were added. The total number of performers were 94 musicians. While the mixing and mastering were done in the UK by engineer Gareth Williams.

 Wahid Al Khan is a composer from Bahrain with a Bachelor Degree in Oboe and Master Diploma in Ethnomusicology from the Conservatory of Cairo. He started his musical career very actively during the 80’s, then was taken by the world of business for more than 15 years, finally he decided to come back to his passion with launching his album THE RETURN. The French Maestro Constantin Rouits who has been a permanent conductor at the Massy Opera Orchestra since 2013, will conduct the concert with Wahid Al Khan. He boasts a deep experience in music conduction, having led ensembles in various European countries, as well as asserting himself in the lyric repertoire. He also serves as the musical director of the innovative Sinfonia Pop Orchestra, which he co-founded in 2010, to be a professional orchestra specializing in film music, live concert, and studio recording.
